What is National Automatic Door Day? This day is being created because automatic doors are awesome. So awesome, in fact, that you may not really think about them, but we guarantee you benefit from them and enjoy using them. They provide access to those with physical challenges. And they also help prevent germs by eliminating the need to touch a door handle. So why not have a day to celebrate them?

Why is this day being celebrated or observed? It’s to celebrate the awesomeness of automatic doors.

How should this day be celebrated or observed? Make it a point to visit buildings that have automatic doors. Walkthrough a slider, stroll through a swing door. And if you see a push plate or wave plate, by all means, use it. Have the door open for you and think…automatic doors are awesome!
